Upload your video
Drop or select your video file. Supports MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI and MKV. Your file stays entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
2
Upload your SRT file

Frequently asked questions

What is an SRT file?

SRT (SubRip Text) is the most common subtitle format. It’s a plain text file with numbered entries, each containing a start time, end time, and the subtitle text. You can create SRT files with subtitle editors like Aegisub (free), export them from transcription services like Otter.ai or Rev, or download them from subtitle sites like OpenSubtitles.org.

What’s the difference between burned subtitles and soft subtitles?

Burned (hardcoded) subtitles are permanently embedded into the video frames — they always show and can’t be turned off. Soft subtitles are a separate track in the video file that viewers can toggle on or off. This tool produces burned subtitles, which are required for platforms that don’t support subtitle tracks (like most social media).

My subtitles are out of sync — what can I do?

If your subtitles are consistently early or late, you can shift the timestamps in the SRT file. Open it in a text editor and adjust the times, or use a free tool like Subtitle Edit to shift all timestamps by a fixed amount. If they drift over time, the SRT file may have been created for a different version of the video.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No — everything runs locally using WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm). Your video and SRT file never leave your device.

Can I use VTT or ASS subtitle files?

This tool currently supports SRT format only. If you have a VTT (WebVTT) or ASS file, you can convert it to SRT using a free tool like Subtitle Edit or an online converter, then upload the SRT here.
